We’re proud to be partnering with one of the UK’s most exclusive luxury country house hotels, set within the stunning Surrey countryside. They are now looking for a dedicated, hands-on Shift Engineer to join their established maintenance team and help ensure the property continues to operate to the highest standards behind the scenes.
This role would suit someone who is trade-qualified, well-presented, and comfortable assisting guests when required. You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team that plays a vital role in maintaining the overall guest experience across the estate.
You must have a full driving licence and your own transport.

- £32,500 per annum plus circa £5,000 service charge
- Working 5 days on, 2 days off
- 8-hour shifts
- A combination of shifts – Early shifts: 7am to 3.30pm, Mid shifts: 9am to 5.30pm, Late shifts: 2.30pm to 11pm and Friday and Saturday late shifts: 4.30pm to 1am

Responsibilities as a Shift Engineer…
- Carrying out day-to-day general maintenance across the hotel and wider estate, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Responding promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from both guests and internal departments
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring all safety standards are met
- Using your technical knowledge and practical experience to help keep the hotel in impeccable condition
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- A relevant trade qualification, ideally electrical, plumbing, or similar
- Previous experience within a hotel environment, although a strong background as an electrician would be highly advantageous
- A smart and professional appearance
- A flexible and proactive approach to shift work
