Our client is launching a brand-new Japanese restaurant in central London this summer, and they’re on the lookout for a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen. You’ll be heading up a small team of 4 Chefs and 2 Kitchen Porters, with the important task of training junior chefs who are new to Japanese cooking, so strong mentoring skills are essential.
You’ll be wondering what’s in it for you as the Head Chef…
- £45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus a £2,000 bonus
- Working 48 hours per week
- Room to grow with the concept
- Chance to make your mark on a brand new opening restaurant
Responsibilities as the Head Chef…
- Leading and inspiring a small kitchen team, setting high standards from day one
- Preparing high-quality Japanese dishes, including sushi and sashimi, with precision
- Training and developing junior chefs new to Japanese cuisine
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
The ideal individual will have a solid knowledge of Japanese cuisine and a positive, down-to-earth attitude. While this isn’t a fine dining concept, high standards are still key. You’ll be preparing well-executed sushi, sashimi, and more for up to 70 covers.
PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NEED THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK TO BE SUITABLE FOR THIS ROLE.
